EcoLeeko started from a left over dream I had once had back in college. After graduating with a BS in Textile Design , I wanted to work with ecofriendly fabric materials, at that time it mostly was hemp and organic cotton. The idea kinda fizzled in the midst of real life and work. I have now found myself in an opportunity where I can devote my time, creativity and passion to create things that are fun and ecofriendly. Over the years, I started making artdolls for some reason, HA..And on unsolicited advice from my husband, told me to go with what I know and love to do, make dolls. About the Dolls..(Please also read about the materials used in making the EcoLeeko plush dolls on the Materials page. It is important for all of us as consumers to know what we are buying, especially for our kids. )
Each EcoLeeko doll is designed and handmade by me in NY state. The dolls are made from a variety of natural materials. Organic Cotton/Hemp Cordoroy fabric is used in the arms and legs. Bamboo Fleece fabric is used the most, creating the heads, feet, hands, tails and bodies. The dolls are then stuffed with Kapok fiber and Walnut shells in the hands, feet and bottoms. I use buckwheat hulls in the baby rattles for a nice sound and it creates a crunchy tactile quality when touched. All the parts are sewn with organic cotton thread. The dolls are then stitched using a Soy/Wool blend yarn to create the eyes and noses. A yarn was chosen specifically for these parts because I didn't want anything to come off in play or wash, like hard pieces can.
Care/Washing...All the fabrics are machine washable and Colorfast, although I recommend hand washing delicately for minor dirt. If absolutely necessary, They can be machine washed delicate warm. Tumble Dry to fluff. Due to the walnut shell stuffing, please allow for longer drying times if it is necessary to machine wash.
Biodegradable!Every part of the doll is totally biodegradable over time. That's pretty exciting knowing it will never end up in a land fill, just a compost bin!
How Do I purchase an EcoLeeko Doll? My shop is set up to accept money through PayPal. It is Super easy!!! The cart tabs will direct you to the paypal site, where your transaction will be secure and safe under the name EcoLeeko . You don't need to have a PayPal account, just follow the instructions and use any credit card. Any purchase made in NY state, will have 8% sales tax. Shipping is calculated at the end of the sale according to amount of total. Your credit card statement will later say MishEco ( a mix of my 2 websites titles)
Do you ship International? Yes I do..Just place your order as usual... Due to the varied shipping charges according to each country, I need to research the adequate S/H fee according to your orders weight and country. It is then sent via USPS Priority mail, usually 6-10 days. I will first email you a shipping fee invoice within the 24 hours the order is placed. Once this is paid, I will send out your order.
Can I get it sent as a gift? of Course! All Ecoleeko purchases always come wrapped in hand stamped recycled tissue free of charge . I now offer 100% recycled Holiday gift wrapping for a small fee. The tissue, boxes, tags and wrap are all made from 100% recycled paper!! Just click on the wrapped gift icon on the page, pick which wrap design and which size box, write in your personalized message ,and whala! It's all done. I'll attach a gift tag to the gift and send it on its way !
Do you offer Gift Certificates?Why Yes I do! It's a perfect gift for a new mommy, a very pretty girl or a handsome little boy! Just click on the Gift Certificate button below and choose your amount. ( The certificates run through Paypal under EcoLeeko )
How are the items shipped?All Ecoleeko products are shipped priority mail via the Domestic US postal service. When you add something to the cart and view it, a page will come up. At the top is a zip code shipping entry, so you can see how much your shipping will be according to your U.S. location. I will email you once it has been shipped and include a delivery confirmation # you can check on www.usps.com
Returns?Hopefully there never will be! But, if so..Just let me know within 15 days of purchasing and I will totally refund your money less S/H and tax. Please note -The doll must be returned in its original shipping medium. I aim to please, so please just contact me with any issues right away.
